some of you may know stubbs & wootton, a shoe brand recognized for its velvet slippers with unique embroidery. j.crew is known for forming partnerships with brands and developing gorgeous projects ( a la fenton fallon, lulu frost, altuzarra, etc.). i have yet to partake in the slipper trend, and the price of these shoes will be holding me off from participation, but there is nothing like wishful thinking or serious longing. my favorites happen to be the navy slippers with lion embroidery, which may have something to do with my serious affinity for anything lions: i’m a leo, my hair is a bonafide mane at times, lions are my favorite animal, and lion king is my favorite movie! i’ll either save my money up (which i doubt i’ll be able to do) or i’ll hope and pray that these go on sale.

every season new trends come and go, and i usually try my hardest to not spend a ton of money partaking in them. the animal sweater trend is going to make this extremely difficult. from burberry to j.crew, these sweaters are popping up everywhere and i couldn’t be more excited. so far i have the madewell meerkat in my possession, and i know i’m going to add more (or once again, i’ll attempt to save money as my mom insists and not buy more…)

also thank you to alex winston (and the j.crew store soundtrack) for the title inspiration, this song is amazing!

i called this the chicken in a beret sweater at work until i put together that it was called the french hen sweater… very clever j.crew, very clever

i would love to give this burberry owl sweater a hoot and a holler! (cheesy puns will keep on coming…)

this sweater is one of my favorites, but it’s sold out and out of my price range!

as summer comes to a close, one thing i will miss more than anything is summertime cooking. there’s nothing like the fresh seafood and ripe fruit here in long island, so i hope to make the most of it before i head back to school! we threw together a delicious meal a few nights ago and me (along with my family) enjoyed the turnout. mussels and scallops in a red sauce, with fresh pasta is SO good, and if you’re a fan of all of those foods, i promise you’ll like this. dessert was simple, but delicious: a rich chocolate pudding with fresh whipped cream, raspberries and frozen chocolate chips.

i am the kind of person that once i love something, i truly LOVE it. it’s bad, i know, and some people may be a bit horrified by the sheer amount of sites, blogs, projects, and products i have favorited on my computer. i’m not. i like to consider it a serious kind of devotion, and this devotion is also seen in my everyday life, whether it be in my job, schoolwork, side projects, etc. i throw myself into something and i won’t stop until it’s completed (also i try to make it perfectly completed…)

anyways, i’m getting sidetracked.. back to my obsession. if i find something and i love it, i will squeeze everything i can out of our relationship (that sounds violent, this is more of a materialistic relationship, do not worry!). me and stripes, yeah it’s an unhealthy relationship, the photo below says it all…

so, yesterday i found a site that makes the most amazing posters of cities and i’m lusting after so, SO many of them. that little ol’ word “obsessed” has popped up again, but you know, i think you guys will be too…

how is this $22… it’s a miracle.

seeing georgetown gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling. i seriously may need this for my dorm room.

childhood dreams are something that i treasure… i still remember mine and today, a few of them have come true, for which i’m so incredibly lucky. others, time will tell, but the biggest dream i have is to own a cupcake shop! i have a name, store decor, flavors, color schemes, menus, etc. a little overboard, but let’s call it productive!

so i know the words black and blue evoke the grossness that are bruises, but if you get past that imagery, it’s actually quite a nice color combination. even though they’re both dark tones, they are complementary and can make an outfit. obsession could probably define my relationship with those tech cases, and i can not wait until i can get them before i head off to school!

around this time last year i was getting ready to head off to georgetown and begin my freshman year. if you know me personally, you’ll know that i’m a very friendly/outgoing person, but sometimes i get crazy nervous for the stupidest of reasons. going off to college seemed like a legitimate enough reason for me to be so nervous, along with excited, that i couldn’t sleep. before i left for school and during my first few days there, i couldn’t eat because there were my good ol’ nerves getting the best of me.

every time the summer olympics rolls around, you will find me stationed in front of the tv when it comes to certain events. tonight will be one of those nights… there’s the men’s 200m im, where i’ll be rooting for team usa (and a little more for michael phelps!). i’ve been avoiding twitter, tumblr and any news outlets so i don’t see the results, but i really hope we medal in the women’s all around gymnastics final and swimming. fingers crossed!! i put together some simple olympics-inspired pieces i’d love to wear, and a pair of boots that can go from being casual to easily dressed up!

every time i check one of my favorite blogs i’m always hoping a new outfit has been posted, because often times i fall in love with them. usually the outfits are way out of my price range, but the fun part is finding similar pieces in my wardrobe or on sites such as asos. i love the unique aesthetics of these blogs, and find inspiration for my own wardrobe by combining different elements of style from each site.
